the nitty gritty

everything you need to know for your stay

+ children

  • our accommodation is adult only and guests under the age of 18 are not permitted.

+ pets

  • unfortunately our accommodation is not pet friendly.

+ weather

  • tents and la niña are a tricky business. we know the tents and their surrounding environments like the back of our hand, and are happy to advise on how the conditions may (or may not) impact your stay.
  • if you are concerned about the weather forecast for your stay, please call us to discuss. the weather is very unpredictable at th moment, so keep in mind that the forecast will most likely change over the days leading up to your reservation.
  • we reserve the right to reschedule bookings due to super bad weather conditions of extreme heat, fire danger, extreme wind and some severe thunderstorms. don’t worry, we won’t just cancel out of the blue, we’ll get in contact ahead and work with you to find the best solution.
  • please note, we won't offer reoffer reschedules for rain or slightly unfavourable conditions (unless made prior to the 5 daye cancellation window). it is camping, and the weather on your date is luck of the draw.

+ how to get there

  • Mount Majura Vineyard is located at 88 Lime Kiln Road, Majura ACT 2607
  • park anywhere in the designated carpark at the front of the cellar door.
  • from there, you will need to walk to your cubby. your email contains a map of the vineyard and where to go.

+ what to bring

  • not a thing.
  • but seriously, pack lightly. cars can't enter the vineyard due to biosecurity reasons, and to achieve the privacy and seclusion of the sites, both cubbies are about a 5 minute walk from the cellar door. we recommend just a backpack, and if staying in the colder months, include thick socks, a beanie, gloves and jacket.

+ check-in times

  • self check-in any time between 2pm - 5pm
  • if checking in after 5pm, give us a bell to facilitate access to the carpark and your bottle of wine (if staying on the local package)

+ what do when you arrive

  • head to the cellar door for a wine tasting, obviously! For those on the Stay Local Package, this is on the house (as well as a bottle of your choice).
  • stroll to your cubby
  • the vineyard is yours for the evening, feel free to spend time anywhere in the vineyard or down at the cellar door.

+ what's inside the tents

  • queen bed (Edgar) and king bed (Frank) with linen sheets, pillows and seasonal doonas
  • a couch from Curious Tales and Huski Studios
  • plates, bowls, cutlery, mugs, glassware and napkins
  • refridgerated water, camping hot water boiler, tea and coffee
  • mini fridge
  • solar power - enough for the supplied lights and fridge, as well as charging phones. please do not bring any appliances with high power drawers, such as hair dryers, straighteners etc., as the system can't handle it!
  • boardgames and books.
  • torches / lanterns
  • insect spray

+ amenities

  • outhouses are available at each cubby, with eco-composting toilets and a fresh water supply to the sinks.
  • the bathrooms at the cellar door are also open 24/7.
  • due to the intricacies of water supply and run off on a working vineyard, there are currently no shower facilities available.

+ food

  • the restaurant provider for the Stay Local package is subject to change. we aim to keep it as consistent as possible and we hate to use the word, but, COVID has been a wild ride and continues to throw spanners in our works. rest assured, we will ensure a neighbourhood favourite of the same calibre is delivering to the cellar door.
  • feel free to bring your own food, snacks or drinks and store it in the mini-fridge.

+ breakfast

  • a light breakfast is stored in the tent, including granola, honey, yoghurt, milk, fruit (seasonal), tea and coffee.
